Phillies get taste of reality after Series win on MLB show

The Pen will be narratefd by former Phillies relief pitcher and MLB Network analystMitcu Williams. The program takes a look at the players’ livesw following the team’s 2008 World Serie s win and the pressures of keepingg their roster spot for the2009 team. The seriesx features relief pitchersBrad Lidge, Ryan Madson, J.C. Scott Eyre, Clay Condrey, Chad Gary Majewski, Jack Taschner, J.A. Happ, Chan Ho Park and bullpe coachMick Billmeyer, and followds them to everything from fishing trips and youtj baseball games to the White Housed for a post-World Series visit.
The programj also speaks with players following the suddemn death of longtime Phillies broadcaster Harry Kalax onApril 13. “As a reality-based serie s The Pen is the ultimate look into the livez ofthese players, both on and off the field,” said Tony president and CEO of MLB Network. “S o much of what we know about relief pitcherz is based on statisticsand saves, and a serieds like The Pen gives a levekl of familiarity to each player.” The prograk marks the first program ever produced usinh a camera and microphones installed in a Major Leaguer bullpen to film in-game and practice footage.
Two other cameras were installed in CitizensaBank Park, one behind home platse and one at low first and were controlled by MLB Network’as headquarters in Secaucus, N.J. Producer Danng Field suited up as a catcher with a camera attachee to his mask to capture footage durinvg spring trainingin Clearwater, Fla. The majorityg owner of the MLB Network is MajodrLeague Baseball. Philadelphia-based (NASDAQ:CMCSA, CMCSK), Cox DirecTV and Time Warner also own interestsz inthe network.
